When migrating to Flare other accounting systems, you'll probably want to have the same chart of accounts categories in Flare that existed in your previous system.
Most accounting software provides a method of exporting a chart of accounts - either by exporting the general ledger or by exporting a list of accounts and account numbers. Currently, Flare does not provide a way to import a chart of accounts from other software.

Activate accounts
To activate an account group and all accounts within the group, do the following:
- In Flare’s top right menu, click the
- Click the
- Click open an account group (4 above), and click the Active field checkbox of the account(s) you wish to enable (5).
- Click the active of the account group (6 above) to activate all accounts within the group.
Add accounts or account groups
If Flare's default chart of accounts doesn't have account groups or accounts you need, you can create your own.
Add accounts
To add an account, do the following:
- Click the

- Enter an account number, and account name (5 below). Make sure the Active checkbox is checked, and click

- Enter an account group name (5 below).
